RSS

I find RSS useful because it helps me to save time. I was able to sign on to six sites that I am interested in and I can obtain new information from them easily on a regular basis. This technology is useful to me in my personal life. I am very interested in music and movies and I have signed on to sites that will keep me up to date in those areas. Libraries can use RSS to help patrons obtain information.

TECHNOLOGY

I've only recently started to update my life with new technology. For example, a little over a year ago, I started using a DVD player and finally bought my first cell phone! I prefer going out to see a movie and I don't like having a phone with me.
However, there is some fairly new technology that I really appreciate. Email is a great way to keep in touch with people. It saves phone calls and postage. I have a friend in Australia. We are able to keep in touch easily, thanks to email! Also, I am able to plan my vacations on line. Instead of making numerous phone calls to travel agents, airlines and hotels, I am able to go to one site, like Expedia, and find the best deals.
I still don't know a lot about using computers. When I went to school, we were still using manual typewriters! I'm learning more every day and starting to really appreciate the technology that is available to us.

This is one of my favorite places to visit! I usually stay in this area when I'm in Liverpool and have walked down this street many times. I'm a huge Beatle fan and go to a Beatles festival there almost every year. Can't wait to go back!

BLOGGING IN THE LIBRARY

Blogging can be used in Libraries to share information with other employees and possibly even patrons. Also, it can be used to voice opinions on important issues.

7 1/2 HABITS

I feel that the 7 1/2 habits will be helpful to me because I am a procrastinator and would like to be more ambitious and continue learning. I'm having a little difficulty with technology, but am looking forward to becoming familiar with it. Yesterday I learned how to copy and paste. My co-workers are very helpful, so I will continue to try new things as I go through this program.
